(NO SPECIFIC DATE): At some
time during this year in Vatican City, Eugenio Pacelli is elevated to
the post of undersecretary in the Department of Extraordinary Affairs
in the Roman Catholic Church. In this position he replaces Umberto
Benigni, who has retired for reasons of health, and that retirement
was possibly brought on by Benigni's strenuous duties as both a
Vatican bureaucrat and as a spyumaster for the church.
